The launch of BBH Stockholm follows Publicis' acquisition of Monterosa in 2012.  Monterosa was founded in 2009 by Carl Norberg, Johan Hemminger, Johan Stahle and Anton Holmquist.

The Swedish office will be led by Monterosa CEO Andreas Bjork as chief executive, with Katrin Hellborn as chief operating officer. BBH Stockholm’s clients include Adidas, Volvo, and Travelex.

The aim is to combine the ad agency’s creative and strategic credentials with Monterosa’s technical and design capabilities to make "world class digital products". BBH said these products would be created both for clients and for the agency to sell itself.

Stockholm becomes the seventh BBH office, following London, Singapore, New York, Shanghai, Mumbai and Los Angeles. The network now has around 1,000 staff worldwide.

Neil Munn, the global chief executive of BBH, said: "We are delighted and proud to be bringing Monterosa under the BBH black sheep banner.

"Our own focus on creativity and quality means that we do not do this lightly. BBH Stockholm will bring an exciting new dimension and energy to our offer."
