BBH highlights new KFC promotion with fresh TV executions

KFC is promoting its latest offer with a television campaign through Bartle Bogle Hegarty.

The ads, titled "satisfied", break on 14 January and offer a bargain bucket of six pieces of chicken, four portions of fries and a bottle of Tango for £7.99 until 19 February.

The campaign, composed of one 30- and one ten-second spot, features contented people lounging around in a dimly lit room after eating their KFC meal.

The words "satisfying feeling" and "satisfying price" run across the screen to drive home the message that the offer is a good deal.

The background music for the ads is a laid-back soul track called Blue Funk by David Hamilton.

The spots continue the "soul food" positioning created by BBH when it launched its first campaign for the fast-food retailer a year ago.

The ads were written by Gary McNulty and art directed by Chris Felstead.

They were directed by Luke Slater for RSA Films. Media planning and buying is through Walker Media.

BBH picked up the £15 million KFC account at the end of 2002, pipping Clemmow Hornby Inge in a final shoot-out.
