BBH chooses Burrett to fill the new role of in-house radio head

Bartle Bogle Hegarty has bolstered its multimedia credentials by appointing its first head of radio.

Alex Burrett joins as the agency's first in-house radio specialist and will have responsibility for all of BBH's work in the medium.

Burrett has worked as a writer and director of radio programmes for stations such as Radio 4, Capital and Radio 1. He has also worked as a sound engineer and, most recently, has freelanced as a radio director for the creative agency Radioville.

Burrett will report directly to BBH's head of TV, Frances Royle, who said: "Radio is increasingly becoming the medium of choice for many clients and we have to raise our collective game against that backdrop. We've made good progress but there are many more creative opportunities to be realised."

BBH's radio credentials have been bolstered in recent years with acclaimed work for Ginsters and ITV. Burrett's task will be to maintain the agency's quality of work and seek out new opportunities from existing clients.

BBH won the Grand Prix at last year's Aerial Awards with a campaign for Ginsters. The spot, entitled "sex line", which was written by Justin Moore and Steve Robertson, also scooped a gold in the FMCG category.
