BBC signs Johnny Vaughan in £5m deal

The BBC has paid £5m to secure the talents of former Big Breakfast presenter Johnny Vaughan as host of a new US-style late-night chat show.

LONDON (Brand Republic) - The BBC has paid £5m to secure the talents of former Big Breakfast presenter Johnny Vaughan as host of a new US-style late-night chat show.

The broadcaster made the offer after it failed to lure Graham Norton from Channel 4 with a £6m offer.

Vaughan will first appear on the BBC in a new comedy drama called 鈥橭谤谤颈产濒别. His main role, however, will be fronting a three-times-a-week chat show called Kitchen Confidential. The show has been described as an alternative Question Time.
