BBC teases the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK with a sitcom-inspired spot.

The ad shows this season’s queens getting up to all kinds of wacky and wonderful drama in the confines of a vintage living room, including Divina Di Campo, Sum Ting Wong, Cheryl Hole and Baga Chipz. 

After a quip involving a borrowed "facekini" (think glam ski mask), a framed picture of Mama Ru herself tells fans to "prepare for the ride of your life" as she begins her search for the UK’s first drag superstar.

Set to Donna Summer’s I Feel Love, the room transforms into a surreal nightclub, featuring dancing wigs, duck walks and – a fan favourite – death drops.

The campaign comes alongside an appearance from this season’s queens at Manchester Pride, in which contestants strutted past a giant recreation of RuPaul’s world-famous legs, marking one of their first public appearances ahead of the show's premiere on 3 October.

The work was created by Charlotte Humphreys and Olga Chwilowicz, and directed by Jack Whiteley through Rattling Stick. The media agency is Havas Group Media.
