BBC launches Big Cook Little Cook mag

The BBC will attempt to lure pre-school kids to its first food magazine when it launches an offshoot to the Big Cook Little Cook programme.

The monthly magazine of the same name will launch on 17 August and is targeted at 3 to 6 year old kids.

Big Cook Little Cook magazine will aim to introduce kids to cooking and eating food, encouraging them to taste, smell, feel and learn about different ingredients.

The launch edition will have a print run of 125,000 copies.

The popular CBeebies show will be incorporated into the magazine as much as possible, using the two main characters, Ben and Small.

Pauline Cooke, pre-school publisher for BBC Magazines, said: 鈥淏ig Cook Little Cook magazine will give children the chance to learn more about cooking and where their food comes from, greatly enhancing their enjoyment of the hit CBeebies TV show.

鈥淭his title brings something completely new to the pre-school market and we are confident it will be as big a success as the television show has been.鈥

Big Cook Little Cook launched in February 2004 and reaches an average of 201,000 viewers each episode.
