The latest figures from the BBC Trust Hospitality Register show that from April 2009 to September 2009 its members spent more than £11,000 on attending and hosting events.
The largest proportion, almost £5,000, was spent on hosting boxes at the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms.
The rest was lavished on several lunches for stakeholders and ‘external guests'.
One lunch during Labour's party conference in Brighton last year cost almost £3,000 including venue hire and hospitality.
A BBC Trust spokesman told The Times: "It is important to note that, overall, trustees' expenses for this period are nearly 20% lower than the previous six months."
