The BBC is to publish the details of expenses of executive board members. This will include the director general, Mark Thompson and the director of audio and music, Tim Davie.
The decision comes after MPs have faced a public backlash over expenses. In one BBC interview during the MP expenses scandal, Lord Foulkes, asked BBC journalist Carrie Gracie how much she was paid.
The corporation has denied the move is in response to public outcry over MPs expenses. It has said it wants to be more open and accountable and said the decision was made last September.
Nine members of the BBC executive board will have expenses claims published as well as the corporation's non-executive directors, every six months.
