Bauer's Banks takes charge of branded content at Google

Google has appointed Lucy Banks, the executive creative director at Bauer Media, to lead its branded content business across EMEA, replacing Derek Scobie.

As the head of BSI (Brand Solutions & Innovations) Content Solutions, EMEA, Banks will be charged with developing Google’s sponsorship, branded content and premium solutions offerings across its display products, including YouTube. 

Banks will report to Debbie Weinstein, the EMEA director of BSI. Banks’ team will include Susan Agliata, YouTube’s head of branded content solutions, EMEA.

At Bauer Media since 2011, Banks has led the magazine and radio group’s branded content and partnerships activity, bringing together the editorial, programming and commercial teams.

Banks expanded her role in April with the launch of Adventure, Bauer Media’s content agency. 

Banks was the executive creative director at ZenithOptimedia between 2004 and 2008. She started her career at Initiative as a graduate trainee in 1999.

Scobie has been promoted to a global role and has relocated to the Google headquarters in Mountain View, California.
