Bauer to resurrect Smash Hits with Take That special

LONDON - Bauer's teen music magazine Smash Hits is to return for the second time this year - with a Take That special issue.

Bauer to resurrect Smash Hits with Take That special

Smash Hits, which closed in 2006 after nearly 30 years, returned to newsagents’ shelves in July with a one-off Michael Jackson tribute issue.

The 84-page Take That special will go on sale on Wednesday November 18 and be priced at £2.50.

The special will, like the Michael Jackson issue, be edited by Barry McIlheney, the founder of weekly lads' title Zoo, who edited the title between 1986 and 1989.

No further details of the Take That issue have been disclosed.

In 2005, Take That announced the boy band was to reform - 10 years after they split.

McIlheney said: "Take That were the biggest thing in the Smash Hits world of the early 90s. It seems only right that we should salute them in the unique Smash Hits style."
