Both brands will host a series of #ThisBookClub live events throughout the UK that are designed to both celebrate the modern day book club and encourage people to connect over novels.

Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction branded reading corners have been installed in three Whistles flagship stalls in Bath, Edinburgh and London, and the latter will host an exclusive session with Whistles chief executive Jane Shepherdson tomorrow (21 May).

The literary and shopping event will see author Lionel Shriver read from her latest novel. She will take part in a discussion and Q&A with Kate Mosse, novelist and co-founder of the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction.

A book club guide called The Brilliant Woman’s Guide to a Very Modern Book Club has been created to support the campaign, and 22,500 copies will be available to purchase through Whistles stores as well as through the retailer's website in May and June.

All Bar One is partnering with Grazia to host a series of literary-inspired quiz evenings that celebrate women’s writing. Guests will be treated to Baileys cocktails and canapés, and they will team up for the chance to win a selection of prizes, including sets of the 2015 Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction shortlisted books.

Each participant will also receive a copy of The Brilliant Woman’s Guide to a Very Modern Book Club.

Speaking of the Whistles partnership, Mosse said: "The aim of the prize has always been to celebrate and promote fantastic international fiction by women throughout the world to the widest range of readers possible.

"So we’re delighted to be working with Whistles this year, and together extending the reach of the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction to new readers and wider audiences through this fusion of contemporary fashion and brilliant fiction."

This is the second year Baileys has sponsored The Women’s Prize for Fiction, which is the UK’s only book award for fiction written by a woman.
