Baileys bar returns to Waterstones

The "Baileys book bar" is returning for a third year with a series of events around the Women’s Prize for Fiction.

The pop-up at Waterstones on Tottenham Court Road runs for four days from 30 April and will feature talks from writers, businesswomen, historians and podcasters including, among others, Dolly Alderton, Scarlett Curtis, Ali Smith, Professor Kate Williams, Bettany Hughes, Leyla Hussein.

The Diageo-owned Irish cream brand will turn the basement of the store into a "literary haven" to honour women’s voices.

Diageo chief marketing officer Syl Saller said: "The Women’s Prize for Fiction shines a light on women and their achievements. It gets more books written by women into the hands of more people.

"The 'Baileys book bar' is an opportunity to discuss how books have shaped our views on feminism, history, work and more – all with a glass of Baileys in hand. We have another incredible line-up of outstanding women this year and I can’t wait to hear what they have to say."
