The German confectioner is to run a six-figure advertising campaign aimed at positioning its Messino brand as a premium alternative to the market-leading Jaffa Cakes.
The activity includes TV spots, which were created by Ogilvy in Germany and will break next Monday.
The activity follows an experiential campaign last year, which used the strapline ‘The future is oblong’, referring to the shape of its cakes.
During the past 12 months, Bahlsen has secured listings for its Messino range in Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and The Co-operative.
