Bacardi shortlists shops for Bombay Sapphire account

Bombay Sapphire, the Bacardi-owned gin brand, is holding a pitch for its global advertising account.

The company has shortlisted roster agencies to pitch for the business, which will be the first time the brand has worked with a retained shop. At present, Bacardi uses Y&R and Publicis Groupe agencies to handle the majority of its ad campaigns across its brands.

News of the pitch comes as Silvia Lagnado prepares to take up her role as Bacardi's chief marketing officer. Lagnado was appointed in March, having spent 24 years at Unilever, where she oversaw work including Dove's "北京赛车pk10 for real beauty". She will join Bacardi in September, with responsibility for the global marketing of Bacardi's premium spirits.

In previous years, Bombay Sapphire's marketing campaigns have focused on events. The brand runs an annual contest called the "Bombay Sapphire Designer Glass Competition", which challenges design students from all over the world to create a martini cocktail glass.
