Moss, the customer and marketing director, was responsible for several advertising drives at B&Q, including the Unleashed campaign of 2014. Before joining B&Q, Moss had held senior roles at Virgin Atlantic, Orange and The Number, the company behind the 118 118 brand.

Michael Loeve, CEO of B&Q UK & Ireland, paid tribute to Moss’ "huge contribution" to the UK’s largest the home improvement retailer.

Loeve said: "He did a fantastic job re-energising B&Q’s advertising and marketing, and we wish him well in the future. We are putting together a new, internationally diverse management team at B&Q, with a blend of skills and experience as we build a business where customer needs come first.

"I look forward to working with the new team to pursue our aim of helping our customers have better homes and better lives," he added.

Moss said: "It's always sad to move on, but as the strategy focuses to a new and exciting future I believe it's time to step aside and I’m sure Michael and the new team will take the business from strength to strength."
