To celebrate the release, Absolute Radio's breakfast show host Christian O'Connell is going to swap his support team with Geoff Lloyd who presents the Hometime show, and listeners will be given the chance to choose the music to be played.

Listeners can go to www.absoluteradio.co.uk until 12pm on Sunday, to choose Monday's Absolute Radio play list.

Avatar will take over Absolute's homepage on Monday with Avatar branding, and the station's logo will flicker to an Avatar-‘fronted' Absolute Radio.

The activity, booked by Aegis media agency Vizeum for 20th Century Fox, will include a series of on-air vox pops giving reaction to the film and offering listeners the chance to win prizes such as Blu-ray players and holidays to destinations that reflect Pandora, the planet in the film.

Chris Goldson, commercial director of Absolute Radio, said: "After our award-winning work on 'Benjamin Button', the pressure was definitely on to create a radio promotion that was just as creative and even more effective."

He added: "It's a perfect example of how our whole station gets behind a brief to produce branded content we know our listeners are going to love."

Absolute Radio recently published its streamed hours for March, which show the network streamed 7.9 million hours of live radio over the month – up 5% since February.

In addition 1.1 million Absolute Radio podcasts were downloaded, 25% more than February.
