Aunt Bessie's joins ITV Yorkshire-themed ad break

Frozen food company Aunt Bessie's is to run an ad for its Yorkshire puddings in a special ad break in 'Emmerdale' tonight put together by ITV to celebrate 'Yorkshire Day'.

Margaret and Mabel,the Hull-based brand’s characters, will appear in a 30-second spot by VCCP promoting the company’s Perfect For Chicken Yorkshire Puddings.

The spot features Margaret and Mabel spying on their neighbour feeding her children Yorkshire puddings on a ‘school night’, resulting in Mabel fainting on the floor.

It will run as part of a special Yorkshire-themed TV ad break on ITV, .

Tony Hector was the art director on the ad, and Matt Lloyd the copywriter. It was directed by Nick Jones and produced by Sue Caldwell for Another Film Company.  

Yorkshire Day, on 1 August, promotes the historic English county, first celebrated in 1975 by the Yorkshire Ridings Society.

The campaign will also run across the Aunt Bessie's Facebook page and Twitter.
