Attik opens new office in Los Angeles for Scion account

LOS ANGELES - Attik, the Leeds-based brand communications agency, has opened a new studio in Los Angeles to support work on its ongoing Toyota Scion campaign.

The new studio, located on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, will be run by full-time staff dedicated to Scion -- Toyota's new line of cars targeted at the younger generation.

Attik created a campaign for Toyota using non-traditional media comprising underground events, two 60-second films featuring 'Matrix'-style animation and urban street runners, four broadcast spots, a fold-out poster insert and several radio spots featuring a hip-hop poet.

In the UK, Attik has been working on a project with Encams, which runs the Keep Britain Tidy campaign, to design its annual report and accounts.

In the past, UK projects have included Virginware, AOL and Nike Europe. The agency has designed the brand identity for property group Savills and produced idents for financial organisation Smith Barney.

The Los Angeles office will also be used for new-business meetings and presentations.

Rachel Newell, Attik's West Coast new-business manager, will continue to handle new-business enquiries for the region from her office in San Francisco.

Attik recently relocated its European headquarters from Huddersfield to Leeds in England. The company was launched by James Sommerville and Simon Needham in 1986, with William Travis and Ric Peralta also partners.
