Associated names Earl as marketing director of Loot

LONDON - Associated Newspapers has appointed Jo Earl from Universal Pictures International as the new marketing director of Loot, its classified advertising newspaper.

At UIP Earl was team leader on an internal consultancy project and has previously held the roles of marketing director for children's brands and specialty programming, and commercial director for the licensing division.

Reporting to managing director Claire Payne, who joined Loot from the Financial Times last year, Earl began her career as a sales and marketing graduate at Unilever and has also held senior marketing roles at Buena Vista International and BBC Worldwide before joining UIP.

According to Payne: "The additional weight of experience in marketing and communications will add considerable breadth and depth to our management team to drive forward and consolidate our position as one of the UK's leading publishers."

Loot is published in 17 editions a week across the UK and has a weekly circulation of approximately 147,000 copies, according to Associated Newspapers.

As well its print edition Loot offers online, interactive television and Wap services. The website is reported to generate around 19m monthly page impressions.
