The online fashion retailer is in the midst of leveraging its brand into new markets. In 2010 it launched the brand in the US, France and Germany.
This year it is expected to launch in three markets, including Australia and Spain.
The company's trading statement today (Wednesday) reveals international sales overtook UK sales in the fourth quarter.
UK sales reported £44.9m in the three months to 31 March 2011, compared to £48.4m overseas.
Sales in Europe reached £21.3m, and £7.07m in the US, while other markets totalled £20m.
Overall, fourth quarter sales reached £93.38m, a leap of 70% on the year.
But full-year sales to the end of March reveal the UK is still the dominant market, with sales of £183.7m, compared to £141.1m overseas, although the gap is closing.
Nick Robertson, chief executive of Asos, said: "We have approached the new financial year with confidence and are excited about the prospects for both our UK and international business."
Earlier this year, Asos detailed plans to launch a Facebook shop that lets users purchase items from its entire product range, from within the social network.
