The ’natural language’ search engine Ask Jeeves is on the hunt for
a vice-president of sales and a number of sales executives.
Ask Jeeves is one of the most popular sites in the US. It has had a
limited presence in Britain until recently, when the former Sunday
Business managing director Andy Hart was drafted in as CEO to develop
the UK operation.
Hart has already hired 20 staff - including a sales director who has not
yet been publicly named for contractual reasons - but he is still
looking for another 30. One of those new appointments will be a
vice-president of sales, the top sales position in the company.
’The vice-president will have vast experience and loads of charisma,’
said Hart. ’I want someone who can think beyond the standard advertising
models. It might be someone from a media owner, a media agency or even
from the client side. They don’t have to have online experience.’
The UK version of the site is up and running as a beta site, and is only
a few weeks away from an official launch according to Hart.
