Ask Jeeves joins Friends Reunited site

Friends Reunited has chosen Ask Jeeves UK to provide its site with a branded search function.

The deal will let users search the internet direct from friends reunited.co.uk using Ask Jeeves.

The deal is aimed at people using the Friends Reunited site to search for old friends who go on to use a general search engine. The alliance is expected to increase traffic to both sites.

A branded Ask Jeeves search box will be accessible on every page of the site. The search engine has similar deals on Lycos, Tesco.net and Streetmap.

"This is an important deal between two of the most popular brands on the internet," said Michael Murphy, chief executive of Friends Reunited.
