
The Walmart-owned supermarket said that the sales event will be three times as large as last year’s Black Friday, when Asda sold 60% of its Black Friday stock in the first two hours of opening and had customer queuing outside its stores from 5am.
, nearly three-quarters of UK consumers have heard of Black Friday, the US nickname given to the Friday after Thanksgiving when retailers cut their prices and offer promotions.
Asda has said it is responding to growing levels of awareness and demand in the UK, doubling its Black Friday range, increasing the numbers of products on offer from 500,000 to 700,000 and rolling the event out to an additional 100 stores, bringing the total to 441.
Asda, which last year became the first bricks-and-mortar retailer to introduce Black Friday to the UK, is to run an integrated marketing campaigns driving awareness of tomorrow’s event.
Black Friday, which is starting to enjoy the equivalent levels of fanfare traditionally given to Boxing Day sales, takes place tomorrow (28 November), kicking off in Asda stores at 8am. The retailer said it would replenish its shelves with deals in time for Saturday 29 November.
The supermarket said that it has leveraged the buying power of Walmart with "record-breaking prices", including 40-inch LED TVs priced at £139. Nearly 80% of its deals will be sourced via its parent in order to give shoppers significant savings.
Brands on offer will include Samsung, Hot Wheels and Little Tikes, while shoppers after a quad bike will be able pay just £3,500 for a model, with £3,000% knocked off the original asking price.

"While we knew the event would be a success, the response from our customers beat even our own expectations! Since then we’ve been committed to creating an even bigger and better Black Friday event. And by working closely with our colleagues at Walmart we’ve delivered on our promise and know our customers won’t be disappointed."
