ASA rules Yorkie 'not for girls' ads are not offensive

The Advertising Standards Authority has rejected complaints that Nestle's rebranding campaign for Yorkie is offensive to women. The ad carries the strapline 'It's not for Girls!'

The ASA rejected one public complaint that the Yorkie ad in FHM magazine headlined 'Size matters' was offensive "because its main purpose was to degrade women".

However, the Authority upheld a complaint against Esporta Clubs, about a cardboard wheel clamp and fake parking ticket attached to a car.

The ASA agreed that people might consider the props to be real at first glance, which could cause distress.
