Army targets recruits with new site launch

The Army is launching a five-figure online graduate recruitment

drive as part of a £1 million ad drive.

Agency ScreenActive has designed a new web site (www. armyofficer.co.uk)

which aims to recruit graduates who want to become army officers.

The site, which is expected to go live by the end of the month, will

include a game which tests prospective applicants' skills and

suitability for the role.

A series of banners and buttons, created by interactive advertising

agency Profero, will appear across graduate interest sites, including

recruitment.

"Throughout the integrated marketing campaign, the internet will provide

the main response channel for graduates to find out more, and even

apply," said the Army's officer for marketing, Major Gavin Grant.

"All of the offline activity will point to the web address, where

graduates are able to take the first step to entering a career in the

army.

"We've stripped all the content found on our main army recruitment site,

and kept the content fresh, including a game which puts the user in the

thick of the action, having to lead a team through various

scenarios.

As well as being fun, engaging and interactive, it helps the user to

reflect on whether they are cut out for this particular career," he

added.
