Now in its seventh series, ‘The Apprentice’ features 16 contestants competing against each other for a top prize. Rather than winning a job working for Lord Sugar, this year’s winner will receive £250,000 of "cash and value" from him.
The opening task asked the two teams to turn £250 worth of fruit and vegetables into something sellable, and Hunter’s team’s orange juice and soup failed to make as much money as their opponents’ vegetable pasta and fruit salad.
'The Apprentice’ had an average audience of 7.8 million between 9pm and 10pm on BBC One and BBC One HD, a 30.9% share of the available audience and more than the other four terrestrial channels combined.
The average audience was nearly one million more than the debut of series six, which was watched by an average of 6.9 million and had a 27% share.
The second episode of ‘The Apprentice’ will be broadcast at 9pm this evening.
