GE is working with the National Gallery as part of its ongoing strategy to help businesses and landmarks improve their carbon footprint.
After fitting the gallery with an environmentally friendly heat and power system, a poster was created by agency AMV BBDO outside using 800 live plants. The image mirrors Van Gogh’s ‘A Wheatfield, with Cypresses’, which hangs inside the gallery.
As part of its wider campaign GE is also planning to fit London Tower Bridge with a carbon footprint reducing light system in time for the Olympics 2012 celebrations.
The company’s Ecomagination campaign to promote alternative energy sources is at the centre of its global marketing activity.
GE is also investing in Olympic activity as an Olympic sponsor with a package that will run until 2020.
According to research by Millward Brown, GE is the tenth most valuable Global brand, worth an estimated £50,318m.
