
The new iMac has Intel Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors, with dual-cure processor speeds of up to 3.6 GHz and quad-core speeds up to 2.93GHz.
In addition, ATI Radeon HD processors deliver sharper graphics required for 3D games and creative software. The desktops will cost from £999.
Apple has also developed a ‘magic trackpad’, a glass and aluminium multi-touch pad, which is currently a feature of Mac notebooks, which can also be bought from the Apple store today for £59.
The company has also announced that a new Mac Pro line will go on sale next month. The new line features the latest quad-core and six-core Intel Xeon processors, ATI graphics and the option for up to four 512GB solid state drives.
Apple said the new Mac Pro features means the line has up to 50% greater performance than the previous line.
The new launches in Apple’s product range follow ending 26 June, with Mac, iPhone and iPad sales driving the company’s profits up 77%.
Apple recorded sales of 3.47 million Macs during the quarter, a new record for the company and a 33% increase on the same period last year.
