AOL Time Warner relaunches Business 2.0

NEW YORK - AOL Time Warner has relaunched Business 2.0, the magazine it bought from Future Network in June for £48m.

The new version of the magazine combines the original Business 2.0 with Time Inc's own eCompany Now, a monthly title that Time launched last year at the height of the dotcom boom.

The new title has broadened its focus to encompass technology issues throughout the business world, rather than the narrower internet industry.

The cover of the first issue features the chiefs of three old-economy companies -- Charles Schwab, UPS and Enron.

This shift in focus reflects the difficult environment in the technology sector which has forced advertisers to cut their spending and publishers to rethink the direction of their publications. Rival title Industry Standard, for example, has also widened its remit to cover more old-economy issues.

It is understood that the new Business 2.0 has attracted about 85 advertisers, including Absolut vodka, WorldCom and Banana Republic.

The magazine will be promoted across AOL Time Warner's properties, including Time magazine and its HBO cable network.

Future Network closed the UK and European versions of Business 2.0 in April this year, after failing to find a buyer.
