AOL launches TV and press campaign

AOL launches a multi-million-pound TV and press campaign on May 12 to promote AOL 8.0, its latest package of software services targeted at households with children. The main 60-second TV ad does not star its brand icon Connie; rather, it features people daydreaming about their ideal world online, while subconsciously drawing the figure eight. The strapline is 'Imagine a new world online'. It focuses on the idea that AOL 8.0 provides personal control and leaves it to the imagination of the user as to what they want their internet to be. AOL 8.0 includes features such as anti-spam software, child protection software and extra e-mail storage. Creative is by Mortimer Whittaker O'Sullivan with media planned and bought by BBJ.
