Majid Adin first met Help Refugees two years ago while in the Calais Jungle, the migrant encampment that has since been torn down.
After he found asylum in the UK, the charity and production company Blink's animation division Blinkink began supporting his artistic endeavours.
His film "The journey", produced by Blinkink, tells the story of a Syrian boy who takes a dangerous journey to be reunited with his parents after their home is torn apart by war. Set to the Jack Savoretti track Catapult, the animated film aims to raise awareness of the refugee crisis and encourage donations to Help Refugees.
Earlier this year Adin was one of the directors who won a global YouTube competition to create music videos for three of Elton John’s classic songs. His animated film for Rocket Man reimagined the lyrics to depict a refugee man who is separated from his family as he travels across the Middle East and Europe.
Close to one in every 200 children across the globe are displaced, according to Help Refugees, and donations from the film will support child refugees who are facing harsh conditions this winter.
"Help Refugees were such a support to me when I was in the Calais ‘Jungle’ so it has been an honour to work with them and Blinkink on this project," Adin said. "If this film helps just one of the millions of refugee children struggling this winter, then it will have done its job."
