Taylor, who has been with Aegis for five years, will take up the position with Omnicom's OMD from December. He will head up OMD Asia Pacific's New Zealand print media, reporting to Steve Tindall, trading director for OMD in New Zealand.

Taylor joined Aegis as an associate director in 2006, working his way up to become head of magazines, and then press and radio, before becoming trading director, reporting to print director Dominic Williams.

Taylor, an active figure in the UK's newspaper and magazine business, launched Carat's MagazineWorks initiative, in May last year, to promote the benefits of magazines at a time when the PPA trade association was experiencing internal difficulties.

The initiative has proved to be a success and managed to engage a resurgent PPA. MagazineWorks brokered commercial deals for the likes of NatMag, Hachette Filipacchi and Bauer.

In April, OMD Asia Pacific hired former Mediabrands' strategy officer Steve Blakeman as CEO.
