- Andrew Cracknell, the chairman of Ammirati Puris Lintas London, is stepping down from the post and will leave the agency at the end of the year.
His departure sees William Eccleshare promoted from chief executive to chairman and Chris Thomas, APL's managing director, taking over as chief executive. Thomas joined APL last year from Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, where he was a board account director running the Volvo business.
Prior to his departure, Cracknell will move to Ammirati Puris Lintas Worldwide to work on a three month project with Martin Puris, the chairman and chief executive of the global network.
Cracknell said: "I've been thinking for some time about where I go from here. I've been doing this for 30 years now. Martin Puris has a project that hugely interest me and should take about three months. Then I'm going to take a rest."
According to Puris: "Andrew was appointed as a catalyst of change. He joiedn to raise APL's profile, galvanise creative leadership and bring together a new generation of management. With this completed, it is time for Andrew to hand over to a new generation."
