Kavanagh has worked on a range of existing and new business across local and global clients including Sainsbury's, Walkers, McCain and Virgin.
At BMB she played a key role in introducing a new revenue stream in the form of BMB Live.
Her arrival coincides with The Lighthouse Company celebrating its fifth birthday.
Saxton said: "The Lighthouse is growing up and our desire to work with the best minds – as clients, candidates and within our own team – is as strong as ever.
"Amy epitomises the level of creativity, thought leadership, integrity and warmth that has very much become part of The Lighthouse Company DNA. I truly believe her expertise will be crucial as we further expand the business."
Kavanagh said: "The Lighthouse Company is at a very exciting time in its journey. It has a great culture, a unique approach to headhunting, and a very heavy involvement in the industry.
"My focus is to help shape our future leadership, ensuring our leaders have a forum in which they can learn, a network they can lean on, and a space in which they can relax when all the hard work has been done.
"As we grow the business and expand our offering, I'm confident my background in brands and advertising will be invaluable."
Saxton has blazed a trail since establishing The Lighthouse Company in 2009, based on a highly personal, bespoke "agent representation" model for media and advertising leaders.
