Amplified launches in-store TV services

Amplified, the communications agency set up by the former Carlton TV Sales chief executive Martin Bowley, is launching an in-store TV service called Amplified Captive TV Networks.

Bowley has teamed up with Beam TV, the technology company behind the screens in Nike Town, for the venture. Amplified will manage and supply the content, which will be individually tailored to the retailer, while Beam TV is supplying the technology.

Amplified Captive TV Networks will attempt to capitalise on the trend of retailers becoming media owners, evident by the recent launch of Tesco TV and The Pharmacy Channel.

As well as offering retailers the potential to earn revenue from advertising, in-store or captive TV can give stores the opportunity to run appropriate content or specific price promotions at appropriate times of the day.

The messages can be remotely managed on an individual store or chain of stores basis.
