American Airlines consolidates global account into McCann

NEW YORK - McCann-Erickson WorldGroup has triumphed over DDB Worldwide as American Airlines consolidates its £55.8m global advertising and media business into the Interpublic Group of Companies-owned network.

The global account, worth £21m, was handled by agencies including BMP and OMD in the UK. This work will go to McCann-Erickson and Universal McCann.



In the US, McCann-Erickson WorldGroup agency Temerlin McClain, which has handled the American Airlines account for 21 years, will continue to handle the £35m business.



The global account will be run out of McCann-Erickson Worldwide in New York, as will the media-buying work.
