Todd, who replaces Veronique Cornu as the company's top relationship marketer, was previously senior product manager for software. She reports to vice-president of European marketing Thomas Lot.
An Amazon spokeswoman said Todd was responsible for the "execution and evaluation of all European online campaigns, monitoring development of the customer data-base and identifying strategies to improve personalisation and targeting of customer e-mails".
Cornu has left the company to pursue a career in publishing in Hong Kong.
She was in the role for eight months, succeeding former NTL customer marketing chief Gavin Wheeler. He quit to start the Wheeler Direct Marketing Partnership, which counts Amazon as a client (Marketing, October 24, 2002).
Amazon's global ad account is held by Wieden & Kennedy, with UK media planned and bought by OMD UK.
