Allied Bakeries picks Ziggurat for Burgen redesign

LONDON - Allied Bakeries has chosen brand consultancy Ziggurat to revitalise its specialist Burgen bread brand and communicate its natural ingredients and health benefits.

Ziggurat has redesigned the packaging to encourage consumers to make it part of their daily diet.

The nutritional information on the base of the pack uses photography of ingredients to emphasise health benefits, such as its low GI rating and ingredients associated with a healthy heart.

Ziggurat has previously revamped the existing Soya & Linseed variant, and has created packaging for the Wholegrain & Cranberry variant.

Burgen also sells a loaf that it claims can help lower cholesterol levels.

Allied Bakeries holds about a third of the UK bread market. Its other brands include Allinson and Kingsmill.
