Albion wins Blaupunkt stereo creative and media task

LONDON - Blaupunkt, the in-car entertainment manufacturer, has appointed Albion to develop a media strategy and creative campaign across launch activity for all new products after a three-way pitch.

The agency won the business after a shootout with incumbent OMD and Rocket.

The appointment comes as Blaupunkt plans to launch a range of new products in 2004 and wanted an agency that could offer it a mix of services.

Vicky Deacon, Blaupunkt's communications manager, said of Albion's appointment: "With a range of new products launching in 2004 we needed to find an agency that can appeal to our target market in a creative way. The solution had to be more than just advertising and needed a really fresh perspective. Albion fitted this bill."

Blaupunkt is responsible for a history of innovations ranging from the first in-car radio in 1932 to the first in-car digital radio with MP3 and recording function. A range of new products are to be launched this year including satellite navigation, in-car DVD, in-car MP3 and in-car DAB digital radio.

Albion develops strategic and creative communications for clients including Virgin.net, MTV/VH1, Innocent Drinks, What on Earth Organic Pizzas and The National Gallery.
