AIS clinches Anxiety UK account from Wunderman

LONDON - Archibald Ingall Stretton has won the integrated account for national charity Anxiety UK, said to be worth £250k. Formerly The National Phobic's Society, the account was previously handled by Wunderman, which won a silver at the 2006 DMA Awards for its work on behalf of the charity.

AIS will focus initially on raising awareness of the charity with the target audience - those suffering from anxiety disorders, such as OCD, social phobia and agoraphobia.

The agency will develop Anxiety UK's communications strategy and all creative work. Channels will include posters, direct marketing, online and mobile apps.

AIS will also work alongside businesses to develop fundraising opportunities for the charity.

The National Phobic Society was founded 30 years ago by a sufferer of agoraphobia, and is still run today by sufferers and ex-sufferers of anxiety disorders. An estimated 13% of the adult population will develop a phobia (a specific form of anxiety) at some point in their lives.

Nicky Lidbetter, chief executive of Anxiety UK, said: "As the largest anxiety disorders charity in the UK - with over 6,000 members - it's important that we communicate clearly and effectively.

"AIS  impressed us with some really fresh and arresting creative, which instantly got to the heart of our main message. Their proposed approach is also very strong - targeting people in places where we know there's the potential to experience debilitating panic."
