Airey makes another US hire for ITV production division

LONDON - ITV has hired another big name in US television, Fox Broadcasting's Lee Bartlett, to be chief operating officer of its production division ITV Global Content.

He joins from Fox where he was executive vice-president of business affairs, based in the US, and will report to Dawn Airey, managing director of ITV global content.

His appointment follows that of Peter Iacono from Sony, who is president and managing director of ITV Worldwide, and Paul Buccieri, from Fox-owned company Twentieth Television, as CEO of Granada America.

Airey joked that the management team of Peter, Paul and Lee sounded like a West Coast folk trio, but said: "I now have one of the strongest management teams working in content production anywhere in the world."

Bartlett was with Fox since June 2005, handling business affairs, programming and theatrical film acquisitions for the web. Before that, he was at Fox Cable Networks, and has also worked for Greenblatt Janollari Studio, the production company behind the hit drama 'Six Feet Under'.

Bartlett said: "Given the globalisation of the television business and the growing importance of the internet and other new forms of program delivery that know no real country boundaries, I feel very fortunate that Dawn has given me the opportunity to broaden my career with this position at ITV."
