Airey lures BBC controller to Sky

Dawn Airey, the new chief executive of Sky Networks, has made her first appointment since joining the broadcaster last week.

Airey has brought in Sophie Turner as director of Sky's film channels from the BBC, where she was controller of programme acquisitions.

Turner, who bought the successful series 24 to the BBC, will report direct to Airey at Sky.

Airey said: "I am thrilled to welcome someone of Sophie's talents to Sky. She has an enviable track record for timely and imaginative acquisitions and a very strong commercial reputation. She will thrive in the growing multi-channel environment and build on Sky's status as the destination point for film and series."
