'Fourteen years in the media industry has flown by, yet I still have
fond memories of my first job as a sales assistant at Radio Broadland
(now part of GWR) in Norwich.
'I had a 16-year-old's ideal job - working with a female-only sales
team, headed by a domineering lady called Lyn Long. I ran many bizarre
errands for Lyn, the most memorable and daunting being the purchase of
some lingerie! Unfortunately, the pair of support tights I bought did
not go down too well.
'Despite this early set-back, Lyn set me on a career path with
confidence due to her enthusiasm, energy and integrity. It is no
surprise that she is now MD of one of the Capital Group stations.'
