Agency sought for 2007 Rugby World Cup website

LONDON - The organisers of the 2007 Rugby World Cup are on the hunt for an agency to create the official website for the event.

The IRB, rugby union's governing body, has put out a tender seeking an agency to create the official tournament website along with all IRB properties.

The IRB Rugby World, which is held every four years, will primarily be hosted in France. Two matches will be played in Edinburgh and four in Cardiff. The tournament, which is the third-largest sporting event in the world, began in 1987. England is the current holder of the William Webb Ellis trophy, having beaten Australia in the 2003 final, held in Sydney.

The tender for the scoring and results systems and tournament infrastructure and hardware requirements has also been opened. Applications close on April 28.
