Agency rebrands Scottish division

Brand and communications agency IAS Smarts, part of the Media Square group, has rebranded its Scottish advertising division as The Gate in Scotland, which now becomes part of sister agency network The Gate Worldwide.

IAS Smarts, which was founded 17 years ago by Pete Martin and Rob Morrice, previously had three main functions - advertising, PR and business-to-business marketing. It has five offices in Manchester, Birmingham, Scotland and Ireland.

The Scottish advertising division will now operate as The Gate in Scotland, linked to full-service agency The Gate in London, which itself is part of The Gate Worldwide.

Helen Hourston will lead the rebranded agency under The Gate banner, with Pete Martin as its creative director.

The Gate and IAS Smarts are owned by Media Square, which also owns marketing agency Twentysix and design agency Lloyd Northover.
