Aegis snaps up Spanish agency in £3m deal

LONDON - Aegis Group has continued its expansion into market research with the acquisition of Spanish agency Inner Strategic Research in a deal worth 拢3m.

The agency will become part of Synovate, Aegis's market research network, which now accounts for a third of the group's turnover. Inner had revenues of 拢5.7m in 2001.

Earlier in the month, the group, which also owns the Carat media-buying network, posted a strong set of results, with revenues for the market research business up by 9.4% to 拢94m.

Doug Flynn, chief executive of Aegis, said: "Inner is a fine market research company and its specialist skills and excellent reputation will further enhance Synovate's global development. In Europe, Synovate continues to grow rapidly and the businesses we are acquiring are winning significant new business, both as a result of joining our international network and from having access to our portfolio of unique products and tools."
