Aegis group buys marketing consultancy firm in China

HONG KONG - Aegis has bought a majority stake in Chinese brand and marketing consultancy New Voice, which will see it pay a maximum of £5.4m.

Aegis has signed an agreement to acquire a 70% stake in New Voice with the option of acquiring the remaining 30% from 2012 for no more than £3.1m.

New Voice was established in 2001 and offers PR, brand consultancy, marketing and event planning services.

Robert Lerwill, CEO of Aegis, said: "The marketing and communications sector in China is growing at over 20% a year and this partnership will allow us to provide complementary services to our client base.

"We have a strong presence in Asia and this transaction is consistent with our strategy of growing our networks in the region through partnerships, acquisitions and market share gains."

Aegis has made several acquisitions in China in recent times with the purchase of digital marketing company World Wide Integrated Net Solutions outdoor media firm Asiaray.
