AEG hunts brand partners to back O2 dome

Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), owner of The O2, formerly the Millennium Dome, is seeking a host of brand partners for a multimillion-pound sponsorship programme.

According to AEG's chief marketing officer, Lesley Saville, the company is looking to sign up founding partners across several key categories, including soft drinks, restaurants, beer and media, in time for the opening of the music, sports and entertainment venue in 2007.

Each partner will benefit from significant branding within and around The O2 as well as 'exclusive signature rights', depending on the service they provide.

'We are looking for best-of-breed companies who can use The O2 for the benefit of their business,' said Saville.

AEG has already signed up Credit Suisse, which will fill the official banking and financial services category.

O2 has agreed a 拢6m-a-year deal with AEG giving it official naming rights to the venue for six years.
