BNFL and Birds Eye Walls' Cornetto Whippy have struck ad deals with
Admedia, the washroom poster specialist.
BNFL is using Admedia's posters to encourage visitors to flock to
Sellafield Visitors' Centre. The ads will appear in selected men's and
women's washrooms at motorway service stations in the South Lakes and
Cumbria areas.
The A3 posters will be placed at eye level, above urinals and hand
dryers, and on the back of toilet doors. According to Admedia, this is
the first time a client has used washroom posters to advertise a tourist
attraction.
Admedia has also lured Cornetto Whippy, this time with its
free-standing, illuminated six-sheet washroom poster panels at Granada
motorway services.
The 200 posters aim to remind weary travellers, motorists and families
about the new Cornetto just before they walk into the shops.
The BNFL deal was negotiated by Mediacom Manchester, and the Cornetto
deal was planned through Lousie Kemm, media manager at Initiative Media.
