Baddour will take up the post in October, following Simpson's departure last month. Simpson left Adidas after five years in the role to take up a senior client position, but there has been no news yet as to where.
The German sports firm recently launched a new global advertising campaign to promote its a3 (pronounced "a-cubed") running shoes, which features the shoes apparently running by themselves until exhausted slugs crawl out. The spot was the first created by Adidas and 180/TBWA.
Simpson was the second senior Adidas market to leave the company in as many weeks. Earlier this month, toy-maker Lego lured Adidas head of brand symbol marketing Paul Ubachs to take the role of global vice-president of brand relations.
Earlier this year, Simpson oversaw the 拢70m review of Adidas' global business, which was split between TBWA and the Amsterdam-based 180. The review saw Leagas Delaney, Adidas' roster agency, axed from the account.
